Restaurants by Grand Union Canal

Culinary offerings at the "Foxton Locks Inn" focus on classic British pub dishes prepared with fresh, locally sourced ingredients whenever possible. A highlight is the "Sunday Roast," a traditional Sunday dinner served with succulent meats – such as beef or turkey – fluffy Yorkshire puddings, and a selection of vegetables, considered particularly generous and flavorful. Also popular are the "Fish and Chips," featuring crispy batter and thick-cut fries that capture the essence of British comfort food. For a lighter option, the "Asparagus and Pea Risotto" offers a creamy dish with fresh asparagus and peas for a seasonal touch. The dessert menu tempts with "Bread and Butter Pudding," a homemade treat that, with its warm, sweet texture, makes for a perfect relaxed conclusion to a meal.

The drink selection is diverse, featuring a range of Real Ales, including regularly changing guest ales that delight beer lovers. Additionally, there is a solid wine list and refreshing options like Prosecco that pair well with the food. The restaurant is also known for its event spaces: a separate room is available for private celebrations, also with water views and its own terrace, making it ideal for birthdays or other special occasions. Regular events such as live music or jazz bands contribute to the lively atmosphere, making the venue a cultural hotspot.

Sadly this was not a great stop for lunch. Sausage sandwich was cold, the onion soup was good but the decaf coffee was horrible, possibly one of the worst cups of coffee I've ever had.

A nice restaurant with great views of the river. The food and service were both good and the atmosphere was pleasant. They do allow dogs in the restaurant which I would prefer they didn't. This can be off-putting to some guests.

Wonderful little place. Visiting from Scotland and this place was the best place I've ever found for being dog friendly. They have a dog menu and I looooove that. Staff were wonderful, it was nice and quiet, everything was well decorated, food was delicious and they also have Blue Light discount!
